Redneck

Meaning: someone who has a poor job where you don't make much money.  The origin probably goes back to the days when people who had to work outdoors doing manual labour at low paying jobs would get sunburns on their necks.  Rich people didn't get rednecks.  Today people are often proud to call themselves rednecks because they have real jobs and live a simple uncomplicated life.
How to use in a sentence: Joe shoveled chicken manure for a living and drove a pickup truck to the beer parlour after work.  He was proud to be a redneck.
